Radio Tees began broadcasting on Tuesday 24th June 1975 from studios located in the former Water Board buildings in Dovecot Street, Stockton-on-Tees.

The UK's 12th commercial radio station went on air at 6am with the Les Ross Breakfast Show. The original line up included David Hoare, Steve Gordon, Brian Anderson, Alastair Pirrie and Tricia Ruff. The station also provided a number of specialist shows from Jazz, Big Band, Folk through to Country.

During it's 13 years on air, Radio Tees became the centre of excellence for talent. This site contains memories from a golden age when Radio Tees was the Sound Of Home.
