| John Simons presented the Breakfast
Show on Radio Tees from 1983 to 1985, taking over from Mark Page. He was also Head of Music.
After leaving Tees John did a
stint at BBC Radio Nottingham moving on to launch Century Radio
in the North East as Programme Director, he also went on to
launch the hugely
successful Century Radio brands in Manchester & Nottingham. In 1997 he became Programme Director of
national radio station Talk Radio. He then moved on to London’s LBC and BBC Radio 2.
In 2000, John once again teamed
up with John Myers and GMG Radio.

John is now Group Programme Director
for GMG Radio, responsible for both Century, Real Radio and Smooth
brands. In 2006 he was awarded with a
Radio Academy Fellowship.
