 On
January 1st 1988 at 9am, Radio Tees re-launched as 96.60 TFM. The new
name was to reflect the geographical area the station served, which
included parts of North Yorkshire and County Durham.
After the acquisition of Radio Tees by Metro Radio. Brian Lister who had worked for Metro Radio for many years
was brought in to manage Radio Tees and would over seeing
the smooth transition from Radio Tees to it's re-launch as 96.60 TFM. The station would
continue to broadcast from Dovecot Street for four
more years, eventually moving to a new purpose built studio complex
on the new Teesdale site in 1992.
